Professional Profile

Ph.D. graduate in molecular biology applied to environmental toxicology, I learnt several molecular methods until transcriptom sequencing. I also have a master in microbiology who together with my Ph.D led me to discover the world of the food safety. My previous experiences as Field Application Specialist, Research Engineer or also my actual position gave me a solid experience in food processing and risk evaluation of food contamination. I am currently looking for a position that could match my qualifications and that would allow me to develop my skills and contribute in the company growth.
I propose you to browse my profile in order to discover my skills, my experiences and my personality through my hobbies.

Champollion University

Ph.D. Student in BTSB Team

Job Description

Ph.D. Project
• Assessment of the pharmaceuticals toxicity using a study of behavioral, physiological and transcriptomic responses of freshwater snails and plathelminthes.
• Pharmaceuticals are often found in WWTP effluents released in surface water. In order to warn and to understand their impacts on aquatic ecosystems, it seems relevant to evaluate physiological, behavioural and transcriptomic disturbances of psychotropics deugs on freshwater organisms.
The aim of this study was thus to analyse disturbances of four psychotropic drugs (oxazepam, carbamazepine, cyamemazine and sertraline) on two freshwater organisms, Radix balthica and Schmidtea polychroa. In our experiments, both Radix embryos at trochophore stage and mature planarian were exposed to each psychotropic drug (from 1 to 100 μg/L). This exposure results in an increase of the embryonic development duration of Radix and in a disturbance of mobility, reproduction and digestion of planarian, but not of regeneration.
Regarding functional impacts on Radix, we observed that psychotropic drugs disturb genes involved in Notch signalling pathways, known to be involved in organ morphogenesis (nervous system, digestive tube, mesoderm and hypoderm), but also in the biosynthetic pathways of polyamines (involved in growth and cell differentiation) and catecholamines (a neurotransmitter).
Transcriptomic study of planarian shows that the four psychotropic drugs module expression of genes involved in nervous, reproductive and excretory systems as well as ciliary and muscular motility.
Globally, this work has highlighted impacts on main physiological functions of organisms physiologically close. These both macroscopic and transcriptomic results let us imagine a disturbance of the population fitness and so on the structure and state of a freshwater ecosystem exposed to pharmaceuticals.
